چکیده
The Indonesian Seas are strongly influenced by the circulation system between Pacific and Indian Ocean, which play an important role in global circulation. In this study, attempt is made to describe temperature, salinity, water column stability using data obtained from World Ocean Database (WOD), updated 2018 at 0° latitude. seasonal Temperature–Salinity (S-TS) were used justify water-mass types. of was analyzed based on Brunt–Väisälä Frequency (N2). transects measured with depth up 800 m 200 km width, encompassing Karimata Sea, Malaka Strait, Makassar Maluku Halmahera Ocean. Temperature salinity profile revealed that region Indonesia’s eastern waters found have a deeper mixed layer (∼150 m) compared western Indonesia (∼100 m). layers distinguishable other layers. T–S time diagram indicated presence six classes, including characteristic It also shows mass more affects seas Southeast Monsoon. A relatively low level distinguishes characteristics Strait seas. contrast, Oceans, hand, stable straits along equator (N2 20 cycle/h). Northwest Monsoon, temperature higher Southwest Analysis meridional ocean currents showed southward pattern except for ranges -1.5 1.5 m/s. condition most energetic current flows affect distribution surface water.

Seasonal variability in water chemistry and sediment characteristics of intertidal zone at Karnafully estuary, Bangladesh
The Karnafully is one of the most important rivers due to its profound influence on water chemistry and sediment characteristics. The present study intended to assess the quality of water and sediment from intertidal zone of this river in respect to the pollution index. Seasonal water and sediment samples were collected during four seasons (Monsoon, post-monsoon, winter, and pre-monsoon) of 201...

Can local linear stochastic theory explain sea surface temperature and salinity variability?
Sea surface temperature (SST) and salinity (SSS) time series from four ocean weather stations and data from an integration of the GFDL coupled ocean-atmosphere model are analyzed to test the applicability of local linear stochastic theory to the mixed-layer ocean. According to this theory, mixed-layer variability away from coasts and fronts can be explained as a ‘red noise’ response to the ‘whi...
متن کاملGulf of Maine salinity variation and its correlation with upstream Scotian Shelf currents at seasonal and interannual time scales
In the Gulf of Maine (GoM), a network of buoy hydrography measurements collected since 2001 provide a subsurface salinity time series showing a strong seasonal cycle and interannual variations that are both consistent with remote forcing of Gulf hydrography by upstream advection. These long-term mooring data are combined with satellite altimeter estimates of upper ocean current anomaly on the a...
